Horses

This documentary looks at horse training and racing in Ireland, focusing on the athletic equines even more than the humans who work with them. Director Liz Mermin profiles three horses — all with different personalities, strengths and weaknesses — and shows how they interact with their trainer, Paul Nolan, a veteran in the racing field. Much of the film addresses the unique bond between horses and humans, and explores why so many people find the animals to be so fascinating.
