Synopsis:

Razlom was released in the U.S. as The Break-Up, though a more appropriate title might have been How to Overthrow a Corrupt Government. With methodical precision, director I. Zamokov details the events leading up to the 1917 Russian revolution. It is shown that the rotting royalty and decadent aristocracy was as much responsible for the “break-up” as the Bolsheviks. Upon achieving power, the revolutionaries are forced to expunge themselves of weaklings from within, a process summed up by the scene in which several dedicated Bolsheviks club to death a pair of treacherous “comrades.” Razlom was based on a popular stage play, though this fact was curiously played down in its publicity when it was distributed in America.
