Onion Underwater

Director:

An attractive twenty-something finds a new and exciting way to see the world around her in this short comedy-drama. A woman named Tara (Rachel Miner) suddenly wakes up in a photo booth with no idea of where she is, how she got there or even what he name is. A man named Onion (Tyler Bosserman) informs her she’s taken a designer dug called “God” which strips away a person’s memory for twenty-four hours, allowing them to enjoy every experience around them as if for the first time. With the help of Onion’s friends Chord (Beaux Yarrow) and Oobug (Kim Haden), Tara enjoys a night of fascination and pleasure with her new companions, but it’s not until much later that Tara learns “God” has some rather serious side effects. An American Film Institute thesis project for filmmaker Paul Yates, Onion Underwater was screened as part of the short film series at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.
