Dear Maestro

The citizens of a charming rural Italian village set out to host a classical music festival. An orchestra is formed, but a conductor is needed. A middle-aged underachieving professor named Francesco (Michele Placido) is interested in the job. But there is talk that a more qualified candidate from Milan, Andrea (Adalberto Maria Merli), will be chosen instead. The two men are friends, however, and Francesco will have to avoid endangering that friendship once Andrea arrives.
