Jan Verheyen’s Dutch-language Belgian thriller Vermist concerns the members of an elite squad of missing person investigators who begin systematic attempts to locate an M.I.A. young woman named Evi De Schrijver. Though Evi hails from a respectable family and background, the investigators discover that she was essentially neck-deep in illicit and delinquent behavior – behavior that ultimately may have contributed to her disappearance.
